Kirsten, I hope you realise that the fact you decided not to do the lads mags makes you even more alluring! Where and when can we see you doing your stand-up?

I enjoyed watching your documentary last night and was so relieved you decided against revealing all. Whilst I've nothing against sexy photo shoots (lets face it I am probably just jealous!)I feel that it is a shame when intelligent women in the public eye feel compelled to display their bodies to get attention. As a Mum of two girls I was shocked and saddened by the statistic that 63% of young women would consider modelling as an appropriate career choice.
Thank you for showing both sides of this debate equally in your programme and for being so open and honest.
I wish more ladies had the courage to keep their clothes on!
I've never commented on one of these feedback pages before but looked you up to say well done. x

ive just watched your topless ambition doc on iplayer and really enjoyed it. Thank god you didnt go down the lads mag route. You dont need to.. judging by your stand up and presenting skills you have much more to give. You are TOTALLY watchable as a presenter and performer. I think the editor of loaded was half right... men do classify women in those categories.... However.. i dont know many men who take the Jordans of this world seriously... they certainly arent watchable on tv... and most men would run a mile from them in a real life situation.... You onthe other hand are extremely sexy being YOU... (not posing as an object)... i would take a punt and say most men would be more than happy to put you in all three of the editors categories because you are intelligent witty AND naturally beautiful which - all told - makes you very desirable and sexy... i look forward to seeing more documentaries and stand up in the near future... great stuff.

Magazines like FHM have had a decline in sales figures over the past few years. If you want proof that Kirsten O'brien is considered a very sexy lady by a large number of the british public then check out youtube. Some of its a bit pervy but its probably a better indicator of the nations taste that an out of touch teen magazine (let's face it, its mostly teenagers who buy it).

Thank you for putting yourself so honestly into this documentary. One of your great charms is that you seem so genuine. Please don't try to change - the BBC should treasure the few presenters it has that are not made of plastic. I hope they realise that the public loves a real person like you!
By the way, I have never been moved to seek out a webpage like this before so well done - you really affected me.

totally agree with your decision. there is enough dead behind the eyes, plastic women who you politely mentioned in the documentary. I worry that women are undervaluing themselves and this idealogy is very damaging to future generations. girls need role models who dont sell themselves out and realise that they are worth more than just an image. how can anyone have respect for them or there talents as they are overshadowed by the photoshots. they are lost in the mass of other naked women. we are a long way of the media being responsible in there sterotyped reporting of women but your documentary was a great start.
looking forward to your next step.

Kirsten,
Really enjoyed your show and very glad you decided not to reveal all. You dont need to, your talent shines through as it is.
I am very interested in the stand up career you are starting on. I am a member of an improv comedy group in Brighton (Little Hair) and we are promoting a series of comedy nights in the Brighton area.
I wonder if you would be interested in headlining or appearing in one of these comedy shows.
Please contact me at littlehair@thenlikemydreams.co.uk if you are.

You've got no fears about the way you look - I've always thought you're gorgeous! If you had of done the FHM shoot, I'd have bought it! Glad you didn't though, you don't need to. You're a fantastic looking bird, all power to your elbow - and well done on making a good doc, can't have been easy.

I thought you and your documentary were superb!Furthermore,I'm sure you would have looked amazing in any of the lad's mags but, I have a stronger feeling you will find the happiness and great success you truly deserve away from the shelves of the local newsagents! Thanks so much for making this programme-it made me remeber at 37 that whilst I never made it as an actress(I awlways wanted to act)I'm a happy, bright and bubbly blonde from Newcastle who works in a tough male dominated business where I use both my smile and intelligence to get ahead but,I like you know where the boundaries are.I wish you tonnes of future happiness-you did the North East very proud!
Best wishes,Clare xx

As an actor and comic who's dabbled in presenting I found this doc truly inspiring! I think the more honest you are with yourself and with your audiences the further you will go. Now you are a role model for girls who want to go into presenting without having to share too much of themselves- or well, at least to me.
Thank you. I truly mean that.

Like many others I watched the program and can only say that the real woman won the day.
I used to buy FHM but got sick and tired of plastic women. Glad you didn't do a shoot for them, you are too good for them.
Just keep being you and I will keep watching SMart, stand up of whatever you do. I even saw you in Panto in green tights as Peter Pan a few years back, what a memory.
Keep smiling, your lovely xx

Finally got to see the show. Really felt for you after your FHM visit. I then realised i shouldn't feel sorry for you as there is no need. You are in a different league to them, you are funny, attractive, loved you on Smile. So use your talent not your assets and in years to come you'll no you made the right decision!!
PS Don't get down about your footie team there are people worse off I support Wrexham!!

Hi Kirsten. Just left a comment on your twitter page. Really enjoyed the documentary last night. It's great to see that you are as genuinely funny engaging and bright as you always came across on kid's TV.
I think you're incredibly attractive and more than that, undoubtedly more, you are someone I'd be happy and proud to go to the pub with anytime. Actually, after watching the documentary (which both of us really enjoyed) my husband said he felt so lucky that he'd married someone he could go to the pub and have a good time with. I take it as the ultimate compliment. I hope you do too.
Loved the stand-up telling people about the sign in Millets in the 'Boro. It's like the footballs chants e.g. "There's only one job on Teeside...". We can be an obscurely witty lot at times in the strangest of circumstances. Then again we also love parmos - make of that what you will.
Oh and about being clumsy etc and pulling faces on photos - my husband is wondering if it is a northeastern thing.
Post if you have stand-up dates coming up in the London area.
J.
P.S. If I had pins like yours I'd be dangerous!

i watched last night and cried with you!!!! so glad you realised it was not for you. funny is much better and it's hard to mix the two i agree. but at the end of the day funny lasts as does style and self respect.hang in there spend time with friends and something will happen!what's wrong with kids tv my kids love you , i have grown up with you and they need need real role models like you and barney - those who have gone to so called adult tv are generally the side kick - who wants that? enjoy what you do and do it too the best whether thats cleaning or being a world leader we are all important!!!

Thank you, I was so relieved you didn’t strip off! You are so much more valuable than that. You’re documentary showed you to be a sweet and loving person, fun, intelligent, talented, funny and beautiful. You lucky, lucky thing.
Everyone on this page is talking about your documentary that wasn’t shown on kids TV. And we’ve all taken the effort to find you out and congratulate you. I’d say that makes you famous on adult TV – without the ‘adult’ content! ;)
Why should a woman have to get naked to move her career ahead? Why is it important that people find you “sexy”? I could name tens of male presenters and comedians that I wouldn’t EVER want to think of in that way. And not because they are “attractive” or “unattractive” but because you judge them first for their talent – I wouldn’t find someone funny just because I fancied them, they do actually need to be funny.
And there are lots of men who haven’t marketed themselves on their attractiveness in a physical image sense i.e. Johnny Vegas, Rob Brydon, Dara O’Briain, Brian Conley, Lee Evans, Lee Hurst, Jeremy Clarkson, Harry Hill, Jasper Carrott, Phill Jupitus, Billy Connelly. All of whom are household names and who I love (exception Brian Conley) but not because I want to have sex with them!
I’m proud of you, the vast majority of the British nation are proud of you, women’s rights supporters through the ages are proud of you, your Dad is obviously very proud of you as your Mum would be. You’re making a change, making a real difference and it will pay dividends - hopefully both to you and to female presenters of the future.

I’m rarely, if ever, moved to write to someone having watched a TV documentary but after watching your programme last night I felt compelled.
It was good to see your total honesty about how you viewed your life was going at that time and I felt for you as you laid bare your soul for others to comment on – it took a huge amount of courage to do that and you had great dignity in the way to listened to all the comments – there are many current TV ‘personalities’ who could learn a lot from you.
I grew up watching you on TV, and I have to say I didn’t always tune in to watch the catroons………
And for the record, there is nothing sexier than a smart, funny girl. Anyone can be sexy with an expensive make-over, but you can’t buy talent & personality – and you have that in truckloads.
I wish you all the best in your career – it is refreshing to see someone wanting to be who they rather than just ‘high profile’ at any cost. I have no doubt that, following this, you will be in high demand.

Jermaine Stewart - We Don't Have To Take Our Clothes Off Lyrics
Not a word, from your lips
You just took for granted that I want to skinny dip
A quick hit, that's your game
But I'm not a piece of meat, still you like my brain
Night is young, so are we
Let's get to know each other better, slow and easily
Take my hand, let's hit the floor
Shake our bodies to the music
Maybe then you'll score
Chorus:
So come on baby, won't you show some class
Why you want to move so fast
We don't have to take our clothes off
To have a good time
Oh no
We could dance & party all night
And drink some cherry wine
Uh huh
We don't have to take our clothes off
To have a good time
Oh no
We could dance and party all night (all night)
And drink some cherry wine
Uh huh
Na na na na na na na
Just slow down if you want me
A man wants to be approached cool and romantically
I've got needs
Just like you
If the conversation's good
Vibrations through and through
So come on baby, won't you show some class
Why you want to move so fast
We don't have to take outr clothes off
To have a good time
Oh no
We could dance and party all night (all night)
And drink some cherry wine
Uh huh
Na na na na na na
(Repeat until fade)

I've rarely been moved so much by a television programme. It complete caught me off guard and made me feel a lot of empathy for you. I wanted to email to say well done on such an honest and provoking programme. As someome who has grown up watching (and fancying) such a hot tv star, it was an amazing insight into the real Kirsten, which I appreciated and talked about to friends for days afterwards.
