Hey!!

I'm 19 and having just watched the show I am just really inspired, yes I grew up watching you on T.V and yes you are a role model for me.
However, I would have understood if you had made the decision to be in the lads mags but my respect for you has gone up soooo much!!
its soo brilliant that a woman decides that image isn't everything and there aer better things than taking off your clothes!!
If anything you are more of an inspiring role model now then you ever were!!
Thankyou
xx

Kirsten, you have a great comic talent, you don't need to get your baps out to make the most of your career, and I can't quite believe I'm saying this stuff, but it's true.

You really have made a good choice in becoming a comedian; make people laugh and you can't go wrong.

hi kirsten, hope you do read this, the documentary was a huge insight into the celeb wannabee culture, I will confess i did start to watch hoping you would been a massive fan of yours for years and years (hope it doesnt sound pervy); by the end of the show was so pleased that you didnt pose, your so much more than that, your personallity shined through on something that you would have regreted later. Really looking forward to seeing more of you on tv, your talent should be tapped, your are so amazing and a true inspiration to young kids of today and of that alone you should be proud

Hi there :) I watched your documentary last night and found it very interesting. I'm a 36 y/o mother of 2 (girl aged 10 years and boy very nearly 3 years!) so have watched my fair share of Childrens Television. I think it's awful that in order to "get on" you even have to consider stripping down to your undies. You're a pretty, funny and very intelligent woman and you should be given opportunities on your talents, not what you look like in your underwear. If you don't manage to get any further, simply because you won't succumb to the "casting couch", you want to hold your head up high and be comfortable in the fact that it's because you wouldn't sell yourself short. I got the impression your dad wasn't very happy about the idea so why upset those nearest and dearest to you in order to please those that don't matter?! I've total respect for you simply because you didn't strip off in order to further your career. TBH I'm surprised Angelica Bell went that far, she too is a very pretty and talented young woman who, in my eyes, really shouldn't have needed to pose for the lads mags in order to get the jobs she wanted. It's a sexist business you work in and it is the big wigs who are at fault, not you! I wish you every success with whatever you do in the future and, as a mother, I would rather my children have your morals than those of the women who felt that they'd got to strip off in order to get on. If you and your colleagues all took a stand against this kind of "promotion prompting" then surely you would all be treated fairly and there'd be no room for this kind of sexist behaviour.

Hi Kirsten, I watched your documentary last night and I think you've made the right decision - not because of your looks, but because of your comfort level with the idea of doing the shoot.

I work as a behavioural coach and for anyone to make a change in their lifestyle or behaviours, they first have to WANT to make the change. From the word go, you seemed incredibly uncomfortable with the idea - a perception that seemed to be confirmed as soon as you came away from the meeting with 'Front'.

We all have to be comfortable in our own skin - as Oscar Wilde put it, "Be yourself because everyone else is taken."

Be happy in whatever you do. And if you can, I'd far rather see you on Mock the Week or Have I Got News For You as a way of showcasing your talents!

Hi Kirsten,
Just watched the Topless Ambition on iPlayer and thought it was a very good documentary.
I must say that I'm actually glad you decided not to do a men's mag photo shoot in the end, that's not to say I don't think you're georgeous, cos you definately are, but Mr. Stringfellow is right, sexy and funny don't match. Plus I don't think it would suit you to do something like that since we all know and love you as being a kids TV presenter. I have certainly followed you since the broom cupboard days, and I wouldn't have watched SMart if you weren't on it. You're right about the last series though it just wasn't the same without Mark.
I've not seen the stand-up stuff yet and am looking forward to that, but wish you the best of British in what ever you decide to do next.

About three quarter of the way through watching your program I relised how much you had made me laugh, and towards the end I may possibly even have shed a tear. “A girl you want to have a laugh with down the pub?” Well yes absolutely! However do you think the questioner considers his options to be mutually exclusive?

Hi Kirsten,

Caught your documentary yesterday and it was very good. I'm nearly 32 and so grew up watching you on the telly and have always thought you were sexy. Even now at 36, I still think the same! You are also very intelligence, have heaps of talent and have a great sense of humour.

Believe in the talents you have and I'm sure you will get plenty more presenting jobs.

Let us know if you are planning a stand-up tour and/or what programmes you are involved in, it's nice to know what the presenters we grew up with are doing now.

All the very best for the future in what every you decided.

Hi Kirsten. I just watched your documentary last night. I'm glad you didn't decide to do a shoot for a lad's mag. You've got much more talent than that and I wish you luck in whatever you do. As a 20 year old female student there is alot of pressure to dress and act in a certain way and it made me realise that I don't have to be like that. Thanks, Kirsten.

Hi Kirsten

An interesting, engaging and funny documentary. But I wish you had explored the stand up comedy route more and where that will it lead? And the details of your next gig?

Hi Kirsten, Great show, very informative and in my opinion you have opened yourself a new career path by just undertaking the show.

Echoing the words of many other comments on here, you don't need to take you're clothes to make yourself appealing, you already are.

Speaking as a 37yr old married male whose watched your various shows firstly as a single man and then as a father, I've always found you very attractive.

Good luck with the future and keep striving forward. the only 'L' plates are in your head so go get whatever you want out of life.

Kindest Regards

Neil

Great show! I hope you have read all the feedback from the press. They say its obvious why you havent been asked to do 'the mags' but what wasn't obvious before to adult viewers is what an engaging, confident and fun presenter you are that women can warm to. X

Great show Kirsten, you should do more of these BBC3 docs! You may not have the face and body for glamour modelling but you have great style! All your outfits were fab, and you looked amazing in the dresses you tried on. Hope this programme has shown TV execs that you have the personality, brains and balls for grown-up telly!

Hi Kirsten,

I just watched your documentary.

Whatever anyone says, I think you're gorgeous. I'd buy ANY magazine with you on the cover!

Interestingly, I think you have done a very good thing by not stripping off in your documentary; you are a very sexy woman and have proved you are also very classy. But moreover, you have left just enough to the imagination!

I think you're great. Please keep it up!

Steve.

Hi Kirsten,

You're bravery and honesty to delve into that world and those issues is inspiring.

I heard the show's name mentioned a few times recently but avoided it because I didn't know it was you and I thought it was just trashy sex TV. But I'm so glad I finally stumbled on it.

When I saw it was you I had to watch - I was saying "don't do it Kirsten, don't do it", I'm glad you decided you didn't need to. You've just proved with this documentary that you can get an adult audience just by being yourself.

I was cringing for you at some points because I'm not as brave as you - but your technique of saying "that's really interesting" to less than flattering comments is brilliant. The comments weren't ment to be taken personally and you coped with them very gracefully. I think I'll use it in future.

I'm glad you didn't do the Front shoot or keep pluging to get on one of the other mags. It's clear from all the comments from the lads here that you are very sexy to them (you look great to anyone infact). I'm sure you could prove those "industry men" wrong with one of those 10 minute TV make overs, and sell a bucket load of mags - but you don't have to.

It's rubbish that a woman can't be sexy and funny - look at Sarah Silverman, Tina Fey, Jennifer Anniston, Mary Tyler Moore. There's been loads of press about funny and sexy girls (in vanityfair etc.). Those guys are looking at too narrow a market.

Some control-freak men have always tried to define women, but the great thing is intellegent people like you question their "rules" and that's how women have taken more control of their lives over time. I hope today's mainstream media obession with women's beauty and bodies will fade to a footnote in history one day. Then more girls will feel free to have heros like Marie Curie instead of the likes of Vanessa Hudgens.

Intellegent comedy and investigative/documentary (as Julie says below) looks like a good way to move on from children's TV if you want.

(by the way I first saw you on Smartinies watching with my toddler - I miss seeing Mark too, he was amazing).
